Booking Terms and Conditions
These are the Dive The Gap Booking Terms. Please be aware that making an online booking to simply obtain a quote does not obligate you to these terms immediatly. Once further action is taken between you (the client) and us (Dive The Gap Limited) regarding your booking, these terms and conditions are in effect.

Clients should read, understand and accept these Terms and Conditions before they book and pay for any Dive The Gap Limited programme.

  • Clients bookings are accepted on the understanding that the clients appreciate the possible risks inherent in travel, and in particular adventurous activities such as safaris and scuba diving.

  • Compensation payments do not apply to changes caused by reasons of war, riots, civic strike, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural disasters, fire, closure of an airport or port, adverse weather conditions and similar events beyond our control. In case of such an event Dive The Gap  Ltd will have no liability other than to offer you an alternative comparable holiday, if available, or offer a refund of monies paid by you, not including the deposit.

  • If the situation arrises that any one of our activities is not completed by you we can offer a limited refund for the parts of the programme not completed. If for example you were to decide that you do not like scuba diving after your first dive, we will refund you for the parts of the programme that you do not complete. Any offers you have received such as discounted or free accommodation will, however be charged at full price.

  • If a customer/client is finding a course or activity difficult, we will do the best we can to help them complete it, however, if the situation arrises were a customer does not complete required parts of a course or activity by there own choice and as a conscience slows or stops the training of themselves or other divers, Dive The Gap reserves the right to remove the person from that course or activity. Any charges that may arise as a consequence of increased time taken to then complete that course or activity will be charged to the customer.

  • Alteration to a confirmed booking whilst abroad. We regret that no credit or refund is possible for any unused services provided in the cost of your holiday. Exceptions can be granted on a case by case basis. If you decide to alter your travel arrangements whilst abroad, this is your own responsibility and Dive The Gap Ltd are not responsible for any extras or difficulties that may arise with onward travel as a result of such alterations. The only exception to this is if a customer finds a particular course or activity difficult and consequently don't want to complete training as outlines in point 3 .

  • Our quoted prices are based on current (last site update) exchange rates and on-the-ground prices. The price of your programme may vary at any time before Dive The Gap Ltd have accepted a booking from you, and they may be varied after your booking is made. Should the variation be in excess of 10% of the holiday cost the client will have the right to a refund of all monies paid with the exception of the deposit.

  • Bookings must be accompanied by a £150 pound sterling deposit. The complete balance is due no later than one month prior to the start date of your programme. The exception to this is with programmes that involve instructor training, see point 5. If the booking is made within this time then the full amount should be paid with the booking. If the balance due is not received by the due date we reserve the right to treat the booking as canceled. Dive The Gap will also make sure by the communication methods the customer has provided that notice has been given. Firstly a notice of a late payment, and then notice of a cancellation. Appropriate cancellation charges may be levied.

  • For programmes which involve instructor training programmes, bookings must be accompanied by a £150 pound sterling deposit. The complete balance is due no later than 56 days before the start date of the programme. If the booking is made within this time then the full amount should be paid with the booking. If the balance due is not received by the due date we reserve the right to treat the booking as canceled. Dive The Gap will also make sure by the communication methods the customer has provided that notice has been given. Firstly notice of a late payment, and then notice of a cancellation. Appropriate cancellation charges may be levied.

  • Late bookings are accepted at the discretion of the Directors of Dive The Gap.

  • Cancellation should be made in writing (email is acceptable). The deposit is non-refundable and a cancellation will also incur the following charges for all programmes that do not include instructor training:-

    • More than 56 days before start date - deposit.
    • 29 to 56 days before start date - deposit.
    • 0 to 28 days before start date - deposit + 10% of the remaining sum.

  • Cancellation should be made in writing (email is acceptable). The deposit is non-refundable and a cancellation will also incur the following charges for all programmes that do not include instructor training:-

    • More than 56 days before start date - deposit.
    • 29 to 56 days before start date - deposit + £1300 sterling. (explained in next point)
    • 0 to 28 days before start date - deposit + £1300 sterling (explained in next point) + 10% of the remaining sum.

  • The cancellation charge of £1300 pounds sterling for programmes that involve instructor training is due to the possibility of a PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) having to be cancelled. The fee may not be charged on the agreement of the Directors of Dive The Gap Limited, and its suppliers.

  • All clients must take out their own adequate travel insurance and a copy of the policy must be provided to Dive The Gap Limited. The insurance must take into account the nature of the holiday and the client must specify to their insurance company that they intend  to scuba dive . The policy should also have:-

    • Personal Injury
    • Hospital Treatment
    • Illness
    • Repatriation
    • Loss of baggage / valuables
    • Diving Accidents
    • Treatment at a hyperbaric medical centre
    • Recompression treatment and therapy
    • Death

  • Clients are responsible for obtaining passports, entry visas, health certificates (where necessary in situation where an existing medical condition may conflict with scuba diving), vaccinations, and any other documents relating to their holiday themselves and to meet any additional costs which may be incurred as a result of failure to comply with such requirements.

  • Dive The Gap programmes do not include flights, visas, travel insurance or vaccinations, and it is the responsibility of the customer to obtain these where necessary.
