PADI Enriched Air Nitrox Speciality
Decompression limits govern the maximum allowable time divers can spend at depth as shown on the Recreational Dive Planner and taught from the PADI Open Water Course. This is due to the absorption of Nitrogen into the human body. Nitrox involves enriching the air to offset the nitrogen content with oxygen; thus increasing the oxygen content and the maximum allowable diving times. The PADI Enriched Air course involves an in depth study of the effects of oxygen at depth along with how to modify the Recreational Dive Planner to compensate for the additional dive time. The course comes with the Nitrox Crew Pack that provides a manual and the table conversion slates. We run the course with 2 additional dives using Nitrox so that you can try out its advantages. When diving sites such as S.S. Thistlegorm, having Nitrox allows you to spend more time on the wreck before ascent is necessary.. |
