The Caves

It is the most southern dive site accessible by road from Dahab and is given its name for the two caves that cut into the reef table. Entering north of the caves where the reef slopes into the shore, you descend to whatever depth is desired and swim along the wall to the right. Following the reef you will come to the larger of the two caves at 18m an,d swimming inside,e the cave slopes upwards to about 9m.

Coming out and swimming to the right you can join the reef wall before circling back and entering the smaller second cave that starts at 9m and slopes upwards to about 5m. It is in this cave that it is recommended to make your safety stop to enjoy the startling blueness of the outside sea and watch the fish swimming by. Ascending directly outside the cave you swim a short distance across the reef table.

Although the caves is not known for its prolific fish life, the reef wall is covered with hard and soft corals and is covered with beautiful anemones and is a must for divers to enjoy cave / cavern diving. It is open to all divers, but is recommended in calm weather when the tide is high for easy exiting.
