Lighthouse Reef Situated at the northern end of Dahab bay, the Lighthouse is the home of our confined water training area as well as providing a site suitable for everyone. The entry is straight off the shore and follows a sloping bottom that leads directly to the reef wall on the left. Swimming with the wall on the left you come to many vast rock and coral outcrops that house prolific fish life and swim around a large rocky ridge around the way. On the return journey, staying close to the reef wall there are small overhangs and coral formations, and ascending gradually you return to the sandy entrance and exit point.
The Lighthouse has one of the finest varieties of fish life in the area, ranging from unicorn fish, moray eels, octopus, sea brime and lion fish with the occasional turtle, napoleon fish and dolphins. It is a site that is suitable for every level of diver and the ease of entry makes it accessible even in the roughest of conditions. It is also extremely popular for night dives.
The entry point for the lighthouse reef and Banner Fish Bay (the other way) is 10 metres from our dive centre. |
