S. S. Thistlegorm Shipwreck
Lying between 30m and 20m deep is an enormous 130m long wreck. S. S. Thistlegorm was a British military transport vessel that was hit was bombed in the Gulf of Suez during the Second World War. Hit towards the stern she sank with all cargo on board. Lying on a bed of sand is the entire ship plus tanks, armoured vehicles, rifles, boots, motor cycles, side compartments, lots of ammunition and 2 locomotives.

The shipwreck is one of the fifth best in the world, and due to it being in tropical waters and within the range of recreational divers it is one of the finest dives known to exist.

The S. S. Thistlegorm shipwreck safari is included in most of our programme, and can be added or removed at your discretion. It involves 2 dives at the shipwreck, going around the entire superstructure and inside the cargo areas, with a third dive at Ras Mohammed National Park.
