PADI Divemasters and PADI Instructors are both professional divers, both work in the dive industry and both are recognised marks of distinction that enhance CVs and Personal Statement.
Fundamentally Divemaster’s deal with divers. They take people scuba diving on a day to day basis, organise diving activities, prepare equipment, spares, first aid kits, permission sheets and check diver qualifications. They are the ones conducting diving activities for certified divers. Instructors on the other hand are qualified Divemaster’s aswell, and can conduct all activities that Divemaster’s do, however they also teach PADI courses. A PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) can tach the fundamental courses in the dive industry and several specialities. With a few extentions can teach other PADI Specialities and after certifying 25 students can upgrade to a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. One step away from becoming an Instructor that trains other Instructors.
